Nessa & Sebastian's Bilston Creek Wedding Photos

Oh Bilston, You're so beautiful.

Nessa and Sebastian said 'of course I do' right in the thick of Covid. The day went ahead without far too many of their favourite people, so the couple always knew they'd come back to Bilston Creek someday when they'd be able to celebrate with everyone. For now though, N&S soaked up all the smiles & gave bottomless imaginary hugs from 6 feet away. Bilston was as lush and peaceful as always and the day carried on like a dream.

Let's do it. Again!

After N&S's mid-pandemic micro wedding the day finally came when restrictions were lifted and all were welcome to come and celebrate together. And so it was that we had the pleasure of spending two days with this warm and wonderful pair instead of just the one! Who could complain about spending two days meandering around Bilston documenting loved ones enjoying and celebrating such a beautiful couple.

Because they had already had a formal ceremony during the pandemic, N&S decided to do things differently this time. We absolutely adored the ceremony set-up as executed by the brilliant planners at F rench Kiss Events; check out the circle of chairs and couches where all came together to share stories and encouragement. Covid was hard, of course, but I do love how it allowed us to reimagine so many things... This idea is a keeper for sure!

NO PHONE ZONE.

Nessa and Sebastian asked their guests to put their phones in a sealed manila envelope upon arrival. This added much to the circle ceremony as all were fully present and engaged. Of course, as the day wore on we found envelopes that had been broken into by phone hungry owners, but a surprisingly large number were left untouched.

If COVID taught us nothing else it's to be grateful for so many of the things that we've taken for granted. When COVID shut us down we'd photographed hundreds of weddings and had stopped thinking about what it all means. On this day we breathed it all in and felt every moment. What an honour to witness the weathered and enduring love of a grandparent in a single stare, to shake hands and share a smile with someone you love but rarely see, to watch little ones dance among all the people that adore them. Weddings give us all of this and so much more and we missed them. How very happy we are to have them back. Thank you Nessa & Sebastian for all your heart and for bringing your guests together and reminding us why being together is so important. Weddings are back and yours was the perfect reminder of why that is such great news.
